Affinity spam?
Today I received a spam message that was also cc'd to other addresses of people I know. What's disturbing here is that it was specifically mailed to only addresses seen within that grouping. It would appear that the spam software maintained some sort of grouping on the addresses it trolled.
Now, it's probably just coincidence, but is this a precursor to spam to come? How long is it before some demographer starts pitching the idea of affinity spam?
What's a mystery to these jackasses is the we're not motivated by their pitches. At least not favorably. If anything the receipt of junkmail builds a negative association of the product, the service and the companies involved.
As the internetworking of people-to-people builds, and it is building, the ability for us to start exposing their bullshit and fighting back is going be a rude awakening for them.
We, the people, have had enough of their bullshit. We remember and we will get even.
