Raison d'etre?

As for weblogs and their raison d'etre, if you don't get it, you don't get it. There's nothing for you here, move along... these are not the droids you're looking for...

A larger issue some folks fail to consider is that without content, search indexes are less than ideal. Granted, garbage in, garbage out, but at the same time "de gustibus non est disputandum."

The solution isn't just more content based on perceived perceptions of 'quality'. The solution is more content. The tools to find the needles in the haystack won't evolve until there's too many haystacks. Fixating on the needle alone deprives you of the bigger picture.

There's a huge amount of content out there, a terrifying large amount.

What's missing is thoughtful consideration. It seems like a great many folks have gotten themselves used to being spoonfed the information in bite-sized chunks. They've so become so accustomed to it being pre-digested for them that they've forgotten not only how, but why it's necessary to think and learn for themselves.

Learning takes work. Are you learning or just being brainwashed?
