NATO for the Persian Gulf?

Hmmm, just a thought, what about a NATO-like organization for the Persian Gulf? It's not the like the arab nations in the region actually give a damn about each other.

As Saudi's Crown Prince Abdullah states:

Let me be candid with you: if it were not for the obvious weakness of the Arab world, we would have come up with an effective unified Arab stand that would have bypass declarations and statements

So why not develop an alliance of countries that do want to participate in actual democracies?
