Discretion and weblogging?
Jeff Szymona, at Blogging Blues, comments on weblogging and the reality of it being merely a type of discourse with many of the same woes found in other forms.
This following a link from David Watson making mention of another weblogger having decided to take the site offline. Apparently due to a conflict raised on the site that led to unpleasant contact with the weblogger's clients.
A read on the archive gives the impression that the site wasn't exactly free of, shall we say, rather outspoken commentary. The exchange that led up to the conflict doesn't appear to have made it into the archive.
This is certainly reminiscent of my dust-ups with one online idtiot whose monstrous name-calling site 'll skip linking. If you're going to offer commentary online you'd be wise to give consideration to it's impact on your life as a whole. If you're not prepared for the commentary to 'grow legs' and show up in places you'd least expect it then by all means, show some discretion.
