<mt:body>
Why don't RSS readers act proactively with proxies?

I run Squid on my laptop. Why don't the readers have a way to preload the cache with the links mentioned in my subscribed RSS feeds. Caches do have support for this sort of thing. But even without it, brute force requests of the cache wouldn't hurt. That's what I do from my home-grown reader. I just collect all URLs from my feeds and have the cache grab at least one level deep from them. Sure, it casts a wider net than might be ideal. But at least it gives me a reasonable shot at the content being loaded in the cache when I go offline.

Anyway, c'mon reader developers, get smarter about using caching resources!
</mt:body>
