<mt:body>
In an attempt to continue cleaning up after the Quicktime upgrade fiasco I discovered Outlook Express won't properly perform it's auto-lookup feature for outgoing addresses. I found the magic regitry setting one need to make to affect this:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4\UseOutlook, DWORD:1

Set it to 0 to not use Outlook's addressbook. Setting it to 1 will cause Outlook Express to use the addressbook configured for Outlook.

Why, you might ask, does this matter? If you use both Outlook Express and Outlook 2000, as I do, you'd probably want to avoid having duplicate address books. This provides the means to do so.

At some point I do want to do some serious consolidation of my many different contact databases. I've got them scattered amongst many programs, stretching back for well over a decade. I think I see a way to get them all jammed into one place using the LDAP interfaces provided by Exchange 2000.
</mt:body>
