<mt:body>
Dan Brickley's on a roll lately. His posts into the rdfweb-dev mailing list regarding Julian's inquiries about FoaF have been really good. It's leading to posts like this: Missing isn't broken: data validation and freedom on the Semantic Web.

THIS is the sort of reason why I find it valuable to listen to what these folks are saying. The depth of insight they're bring to the table is amazing. There are some very knotty problems, of near Gordian difficulty, involved in exanding the use of stuff like RSS out into larger areas like social networking. Simple XML is not enough.

Thus I'm finding listening to what the RDF folks have to say is a lot more valuable that the hucksters pimping their products and their bloated egos. Sure, the RDF stuff can be a lot harder to understand. But what do you want, simple crap and leaves you stranded? Or is it worth learning just a wee bit more and finding a path that's got a lot more options.

Follow who you will but the simpletons are offering little more than a way to feed their own egos and line their own pockets.
</mt:body>
