Grammar police
I suppose nobody else cares but it really irritates me when I see someone grafting on a 'ian' suffix onto words. The latest one being "Dr. Strangelovean". Give me a damned break. How about using some decent style? If anything "Dr. Strangeglove-like" at least. Or better yet, make the point without trying to leverage a 60's movie.
Another peeve is the attempt to graft '-gate' onto something when a scandal emerges. Give it a rest you idiots. If you can't come up with an original name for it spare us your lame-ass attempts at buzz-words.

Well, yes, the decay of decent language starts even below the word-level and does not stop at the sentence layer.
