I've met Jon, read his book and have followed his comments over the years. He's arguably a pretty smart guy. How he got himself stuck in league with an asshole like Winer is anyone's guess.

It's both encouraging and disappointing to read Jon's posting. He's close, closer than he's been before. But he still misses the mark. Much like the old Kung Fu series, Grasshopper has still not reached enlightenment.

The Semantic Web. Oy, talk about a concept the unelightened just don't get. The energies they put into railing against it are incredible. I'd cynical enough to bet if they put half that energy into understanding the concept it'd be here already. Instead they drain the energy of those trying hard to advance the idea by writing articles like that. What a shame.
