Oh the joys of home ownership
So I'm at home today and a man from the gas company comes knocking on the door. Apparently our 50 year old line has sprung a leak. After visions of a smoking hole and matchstick-sized debris are calmly dissipated, I'm told it's a very minor one. But that they will need to dig.
Dig. groan....
Great big gaping chasms of mud, given the rain around here lately, leap to mind. Fortunately it turns out they'll only need to cut a 3'x3' hole in my driveway and run the new line in through the front of the house. Trouble is, it's the end of their shift and now I'm left without for the evening. I suppose it's 'catch a shower at the pool' for the next day or so.
The upside is it's free. No cost to the homeowner. Yay!
