When my neighbor's returned from their vacation to discover no hotwater or dryer heat it started me worrying. Yep, they forgot to check.

They came back and had to dig up my driveway again as well as my neighbor's grass. I tried suggesting they rip up the entire driveway as I'd be more than willing to let them replace it. No such luck. Fortunately they did a neat job of it and reused the hole they dug last week.

All in all, the field guys working for Washington Gas have been really pleasant. When they screw up and forget to check things I can cut 'em some slack because they're really nice about admitting their mistake.

Now, the people on the phone, that's another issue entirely. They were slow, rude and generally unhelpful. Not to mention they basically told my neighbors "tough, live with it until we feel like sending someone around". They left them hanging for five days!

Apparently it's yet another case of field people knowing what it takes to keep customers happy while the head office people act like insensitive idiots. Why does this just keep repeating, over and over again?

Ah well, at least my gas is back working again.
