Crickets
Arrrgh, it's the end of summer and the crickets are invading. Anyone know a good way to trap these damned things? I'm being overrun by them. It's not the bug part that bothers me, it's the damned racket they make.
Hi Charles, I've already got a cat. She manages to catch a few of them. But it's those ones that get behind furniture that she can't reach that seem to make the most noise.

Cats are funny creatures, they have an absolute sense of their territorial perimeter, and they constantly patrol it to see if any new openings are letting foreign beasts inside the perimeter. But if you have an object like a bookcase they can't get under, they'll consider it outside their perimeter and ignore anything that happens there.
Anyway, just be glad you don't live near me, for the last 2 years there have been massive problems with ladybugs invading homes in the fall. It might sound cute, but I assure you, a wall crawling with thousands of ladybugs is disgusting.
No advice on the crickets (I was recently feeling the same thing), but just wait till next summer...
The cicadas are coming!
If you were here in '87, you'll remember; its much worse!
