We lost power well before anything storm related caused it. It was just another case of, as Adam puts it, 'a squirrel sneezed'.

What's galling here is there are no other reasons for power to be out in our neighborhood. No trees on lines or other wiring related problems. So instead of the usual 1 hour fix that it typically requires we're lumped into the overall hurricane-caused work.

That and Pepco's pulling their usual 'tell them it'll take a week so they'll think we're heroes for doing it in five days'. They're fucked come their October rate increase request.

What is has done is galvanize the community to fight. We're damn sick and tired of living in near 3rd world conditions on a monthly basis. We lose power, on average, at least once a month if not more. Seven times so far this year!

Meanwhile I'm stuck offline until power returns.
