Spam abuse
The spammers are out of control. We have ways of counteracting them. Trouble is some of the methods will cause legitimate users to suffer.
I say make 'em suffer.
By letting these 'innocent' users get caught up in the net it'll expose to them the larger issues. There's an awful lot of ISP complicity in the handling of spam. But there's also the lack of user education. Unless the users become more aware of where they fit in the puzzle they're not going to understand when their access goes dark.
Better to have these bystanders start suffering if that's what it takes to build momentum for change.
