Bluetooth headsets?

Anyone out there using a BlueTooth headset with their PC? I'd like to make use of one as a wireless headset (with mic) for my PC. Not, as appears to be the common case, as a headset for a cellphone. I'm not seeing anything from the various makers that indicates whether the PC (running XP) can be told to recognize the device for this purpose.

Either that or can anyone recommend a decent wireless headset that has audio in/out capable of being used with a PC?

I've been interested in that scenario as well, allthough I haven't done much research.

It does look as if it should be possible though, if the headset supports both Bluetooth profiles.

Please keep us posted on any progress you may make.

Ditto.

I'm particularly interested in having a wireless headset for listening to music (so needs to be hi-fi and stereo), and for making phone calls (so needs to be full duplex and secure).

I suspect that bluetooth alone is not going to meet my needs.

I found a unit from Logitech that's wireless and specifically designed for PCs. It's a mono headset but that's fine for my application.

In my searching I saw /nothing/ that was stereo and microphone capable. Not even any of the plantronics ($$$) units. All were single audio channel.

I'm not surprised. It seeems most of the time you'd want a headset mic you'd also want to be able to hear /some/ of the ambient noise. Thus having one ear free is useful. I can understand situations that would want otherwise. I sympathize. But given the tiny percentage of the market that wants headsets /at all/ the even smaller segment wanting stereo (and it's added cost) makes it unlikely to be available anytime soon.

Try bestbuy. I bought one there for my son. It works great he tells me.

I found this news item (click on link) about blue tooth enabled headsets by Toshiba, but I think they're only found in the land of the rising sun! I'm also looking for a bluetooth headset with mic instead of the one eared wonders.

Morality by consensus is frequently morality by convenience.
