Tivo DVR
What fun! Santa's come early and brought an RCA DirecTivo!
Of course it's causing it's own series of upgrade ripples. The 18" round dish, with it's dual outputs, has been fine for the previous pair of boxes. But since the DirecTivo has two tuners it needs two satellite signals. Apparently this means I have to install a multiswitch.
Or do I? Since all I've got is the current round dish I'm wondering if it might be worth replacing it with one of the newer elliptical ones? Those, supposedly, have some additional output options and I might possibly not need a multiswitch. Trouble is it's danged tough getting a straight answer; there's too many choices!
The real question is which USB Ethernet dongle to purchase. I fully intend to hack the bejeesus out of this thing so having TCP/IP access to it is mandatory.
