Their iPod has a dirty little secret, it's battery lasts only 18 months and costs MORE THAN RETAIL to fix it.

Granted, they've now got a program for $99 and an added one year warranty you can purchase for $59. It's not clear that you can purchase it forever. And given Apple's past track record on screwing Applecare customers it's not like I'd hold out much hope.

So basically that iPod, with it's completely non-standard batteries, is going to cost you at least an extra $60 per-year just to make sure you can still get a battery for it.
