Outlook 2003 and IMAP, a marriage made in Hell
I'm really disappointed with how Outlook 2003 interacts with IMAP servers. Basically, it sucks.
Outlook can't seem to correctly handle maintaining locks with an IMAP server. Instead Outlook just randomly locks up requiring use of the Task Manager to force it to quit.
It's not like IMAP is new, it's been around for nearly a DECADE. Nor is it like MS doesn't understand it as Outlook Express has been an absolute joy to use with various IMAP servers.
Instead Outlook continues to do a half-assed job of supporting IMAP. This is a shame. I really do like the new layout of the 2003 version. But a pretty face won't help if it keeps locking up all the time.
